Artistic proposal*:

Artistic proposal outlining the relevance and the singularity of your practice and research interests within the context and focus of the host institution, and demonstrating your motivation for applying to an international residency at this point in your career and the benefits it will bring.

The selected artists are expected to work according to the focus of each residency, in resonance with each specific context –geographical or historical, societal, artistic etc.

Please make sure that your dates match those offered by the selected residency (see resources of the selected venue).

Please let us know about any access requirements and/or reasonable adjustments required at interview stage. If you are awarded the residency, we will ask for any access requirement to accommodate your needs and provide appropriate support during your stay. This information can be shared via an Access Rider. Personal data will be collected by Institut français du Royaume-Uni and shared with the host organisation only and will be destroyed once the selection process is completed. It is however important to read each venues’ access information and facilities description as these vary significantly.

VISA INFORMATION

You can visit the UK as a Standard Visitor for tourism, business, study and other permitted activities, for example if you are employed overseas as an artist. More information on Standard Visitor.

FAQ

Applications are dedicated to contemporary visual artists.
Applications are not open to students except for PhD candidates.
Artists are considered to be based in a region if they have an address (residence) within that region.
All applications must be written in English.
Joint applications (duo, collective, etc) are not accepted.
Please don’t send us material documents. If you do, the Institut français du Royaume-Uni will be unable to send them back.
